Copenhagen computation

چکیده
I describe a pedagogical scheme devised to teach efficiently to computer scientists just enough quantum mechanics to permit them to understand the theoretical developments of the last decade going under the name of ‘‘quantum computation.’’ I then note that my offbeat approach to quantum mechanics, designed to be maximally efficacious for this specific educational purpose, is nothing other than the Copenhagen interpretation. r 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. متن کاملCopenhagen computation: How I learned to stop worrying and love Bohr
To celebrate the 60th birthday of Charles H. Bennett I (1) publicly announce my referee reports for the original dense coding and telepor-tation papers, (2) present a very economical solution to the Bernstein-Vazirani problem that does not even hint at interference between multiple universes, and (3) describe how I inadvertently reinvented the Copen-hagen interpretation in the course of constru...
متن کاملProperties of some character tables related to the symmetric groups
We determine invariants like the Smith normal form and the determinant for certain integral matrices which arise from the character tables of the symmetric groups Sn and their double covers. In particular, we give a simple computation, based on the theory of Hall-Littlewood symmetric functions, of the determinant of the regular character table XRC of Sn with respect to an integer r ≥ 2. This re...
متن کاملA Simulation for Neurophotonic Quantum Computation in Visual Pathways
One of the answers to the measurement problem in quantum theory is given by the Copenhagen-Interpretation of quantum theory (i.e. orthodox quantum theory) in which the wave function collapse happens in (by) the mind of observer. In fact, at first, great scientists like Von Neumann, London, Bauer and Wigner (initially) believed that the wave function collapse occurs in the brain or is caused by ...
متن کاملAnalyzing the Consequences of the UAE Creating Artificial Islands in The Persian Gulf (Considering the Copenhagen School)
In recent years, the United Arab Emirates has begun creating artificial islands in the Persian Gulf. These actions have sparked many concerns throughout the region, particularly from Iran. This study defines and analyzes the process of securitizing the creation of the UAE artificial islands in the Persian Gulf. Although, according to the Law of the Sea Convention, coastal states are entitled to...
